Fun Valentine's Day Gifts: Unique Gift Ideas for Every Valentine

Friday, January 27, 2023
Valentine's Day is just around the corner and I have a quick gift guide to help you shop for those special people in your life. And if you know me at all, you can guarantee that I found some FUN outside-the-box ideas for you! I know many of us are looking for inexpensive gifts, too, so don't worry, I got ya covered!

Disclosure: This post contains some affiliate links to Amazon. I am a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for me to earn fees by linking to Amazon.com and affiliated sites. Some toys and gift suggestions were sent to me as samples, but I promise you I wouldn't feature items in my guide if I didn't totally love them myself! So rest assured, these items all have The Jersey Momma stamp of approval!

Don't forget to Pin this post for later! You never know when you'll need a good gift idea.

Loungefly Care Bears Cloud Party

It's my firm belief that everyone should own a Loungefly bag (even the dudes out there- I assure you there are mini backpacks for every gender, no matter who you identify as). Their wallets are amazing, like this Care Bears Cloud Party zip-around that looks like it's right out of my 1980's dreams. The Care Bears Cloud Party Heart Crossbody Bag even has a rainbow strap and heart-shaped front zipper pocket.

Care Bears Hopeful Heart Plush

Speaking of Care Bears, I am totally in love with the Hopeful Heart Limited Edition bear! The boxed set (available at Walmart) comes with a silver vinyl figure and certificate of authenticity. If this one is a little too steep for your budget (it retails around $49), there are a variety of other plush Care Bears available- including the Care-A-Lot 40th Anniversary Plush, the Togetherness Bear, and the Calming Heart Bear (which is scented, I might add).

Funko Popsies

Funko Popsies are an alternative to cards and flowers (not just for Valentine's Day, they have them for pretty much every holiday and special occasion). Push the button and the Popsie displays a little pop-up message to melt your recipient's heart. The Joker and Harley Quinn are super-cute, aren't they?

Star Wars, DC, Disney, and Marvel Fandom from Funko

You don't have to twist my arm to get me to love a Funko product! I pretty much love everything they make. This year's Valentine's Day collection features adorable Star Wars POP! vinyl bobbleheads of Kylo Ren, Rey, Princess Leia, and BB-8 (you can pre-order this as a 4-pack here). Also not to be missed are their DC Comics Bombshell Mystery Minis (I love that vintage vibe!). And Marvel fans will adore the heart-shaped Pocket Pop box, featuring a 4 pack of Marvel Pocket POPS (available at Walmart and Funko.com). The Pocket POP box is available with The Mandalorian figures and DC figures, too. These Pocket POPS are Walmart and Funko.com exclusives, so beware of price gouging if you are trying to purchase them anywhere else.

Fun Foam Valentines

There are so many sweet treats on the market for Valentine's Day and kids are usually inundated with candy and chocolate during their school celebrations. Educational Insights offers a great alternative- Fun Foam! Fun Foam is colorful, sensory-friendly and doesn't make a mess. Their Party Pack comes with 20 heart-shaped Fun Foam valentines and two sheets of to/from stickers. You can find it on Amazon here. Watch my Instagram Reel of the Party Pack below!

Feelings and Mindfulness Activities, Games and Fun

Valentine's Day is all about feelings, so kids ages 3 and up might enjoy these SEL (Social Emotional Learning) sets from Learning Resources, Educational Insights and Hand2Mind.
-Learning Resource's All About Me Feelings Activity Set contains 36 adorable feeling counters (which I actually enjoyed placing around my desk to represent my current mood), 18 activity cards and an activity guide. Kids can name and explore six different emotions and learn how to recognize their own feelings. The box doubles as a playset, too!
-Educational Insight's My Feelings Bean Bags comes with ten cute tactile bean bags, each complete with its own facial emotion. Kids can touch, toss, catch, and talk about the emotions depicted on each bean bag. A variety of included hands-on activities encourage SEL (Social Emotional Learning), tactile awareness, and fine motor skills. I also love that you can use these bean bags in other games and activities as kids grow. Each one has a different sensory feeling in your hands, too (silky/smooth, bumpy, crunchy, etc)
-Hand2Mind created a Mindful Maze Garden Pack that I was really fascinated with. It comes with 2 double sided mazes that help teach children how to sooth themselves by providing cues and physical objects to guide them through breathing exercises. Couldn't you use this as an adult, too? I know I could! These soothing sensory toys are a great way for children to practice mindfulness and help with anxiety, too. Also available in a set of three larger boards.
LEGO Botanicals

If you were never a LEGO fan, you might just become one after you see their amazing botanical collection. From succulents to 'dried flower' arrangements, they are a unique and fun alternative to real flowers. Plus, they make great gifts for others (our son put together several of these as gifts for his grammy). Check out the entire collection here.

Valentine Squishmallows

Squishmallows have a variety of Valentine styles available- you just have to know where to find them! Check stores like Target, Walmart, Walgreens, Learning Express, Five Below, and Aldi. Selections vary by store and sell out quickly, so get 'em when you see 'em.

Moss Ball Pets

I actually own five moss ball pets. A "moss ball" is a water plant and it's known as a marimo. They can grow fairly large if you take care of them well, and truthfully, you don't need to do much for them at all. Moss Ball Pets sells various terrariums for them (small bottles with a cork top) and offers different rock color combinations, too. They come with a certificate for you to name your moss ball pet, or you can buy their heart-shaped moss ball terrarium for a fun and unique gift (then you'll be buying a pair!). Check out my Instagram Reel of my own moss ball pets below. They range in price starting at $15, and they give you everything you need to get started.
