What Is HangDog Outdoor Adventure?
HangDog Outdoor Adventure is a four-story outdoor aerial adventure park featuring ropes courses, climbing obstacles, ziplines, swings, and free-fall experiences. The course includes more than 100 climbing elements and multiple difficulty levels, making it ideal for both beginners and experienced climbers.
One of the biggest reasons HangDog stands out is that it truly caters to a wide age range. While many family attractions are geared primarily toward little kids, HangDog offers the kind of high-energy challenges that teenagers, tweens, and adults genuinely enjoy. One of the biggest draws for me is that you don't actually have to climb if you visit. There is no entry fee. You only pay if you're climbing, so you're free to enjoy the beer garden, delicious food, drinks, yard games, TV screens, live music, or whatever else you want to partake in on the HangDog grounds.
The park also features:
- Massive aerial ropes courses
- Two 240-foot ziplines
- Free-fall jumps
- Night climbing experiences
- Food and drinks on-site
- Outdoor games and live entertainment on select nights

Why Teenagers Love HangDog
Finding activities that teenagers are excited about can be difficult (believe me, I know!). HangDog
makes the experience feel adventurous without being intimidating, and it gives teens the independence and excitement they crave. Instead of sitting around scrolling on their phones, they’re climbing, balancing, racing across obstacles, and challenging themselves physically (they're actually not permitted to bring their phones into the ropes course for safety reasons. We were granted permission to take photos for this post).
The variety of obstacles keeps things interesting, and the multi-level structure allows teens to choose how daring they want to be. Some elements are manageable for beginners, while others offer serious thrills for more adventurous climbers.
Night climbs are especially popular because they add an entirely different atmosphere to the experience. Climbing under the lights gives the course an almost festival-like energy that older kids, teens and adults tend to love.

Adults Will Have Just as Much Fun
What makes HangDog especially unique is that adults are not simply standing around watching the kids. Parents, grandparents, couples, and groups of friends can fully participate in the adventure together. We saw a variety of different age groups at the park and I even met a couple who wasn't there to climb. They were just enjoying the festive bar (which kind of has a "beach" vibe), the music, and the nice breeze that was coming up the hill. The ropes courses provide real physical and mental challenges, making the experience rewarding for adults, too. It’s an ideal destination for:
- Family outings
- Birthday celebrations
- Corporate team-building events
- Date nights
- Teen friend groups
- Summer adventures
- College students looking for something active to do
The atmosphere also feels more social than a traditional amusement attraction. Between the outdoor seating, food options, music events, and beer garden area, many visitors end up staying longer than expected just to hang out and enjoy the vibe. And I must say, it's pretty "chill." The staff is friendly and helpful, the food was delicious and the drinks were worth sticking around for. Their location on top of a hill above Rt. 78 makes for a nice breeze. We were there on an unusually hot day in May (90+ degrees!) and I was comfortable and happy sipping my drinks at the bar.

Food & Drinks at HangDog Outdoor Adventure
I've been blogging since 2013 and truth be told, I've visited a lot of places. But HangDog will stay in our top ten because they had everything an adventurous family could want. We loved the climbing course and the fact that all of us didn't have to climb if we didn't want to (you only pay for the climbers). The food was delicious and their drinks were top notch. I told my husband that I would come back even if I was not climbing at all- the vibe was so chill there, with nice music playing, a breeze blowing, great food and outstanding drinks. They have their own beer as well as fun cocktails and mocktails. Their frozen drinks and "crushes" are yummy and memorable. They had gluten-free options, too. They also have events, live music, and so much more, so be sure to follow HangDog on social media (and me, too) to see what's new.
