The Jersey Momma's Review (Spoiler-Free!)

My favorite thing about Peter Rabbit 2 is that it's filled with adorable rabbits and other animals (I love the piggies and tabby cats). They look so fuzzy and real and they visually retain some of that original magic of the Beatrix Potter images. However, that's where the similarity ends! Peter Rabbit is definitely a modern day version of who we knew as children- much more mischievous and causing a lot of trouble. There's plenty of slapstick punching, kicking and overall silliness which kids will love. Because of this I recommend it for kids ages 8 and up. Peter winds up with the 'wrong crowd' in this film, but rest assured he will learn the error of his ways and there are good lessons to take away (even from Rose Byrne's character Bea, who sticks to her beliefs when it comes to her book). The cast (voice cast and 'real' cast) are so talented, and I love James Corden as Peter.  Overall I think kids will enjoy the movie, and so will parents. The movie has its funny moments (there were times when I actually laughed out loud) and I liked the message Peter teaches us about love for family, friends, and learning who you really are.
