The Jersey Momma's Review

I enjoyed the first Angry Birds Movie and I arrived at the screening expecting this one to be cute and funny, too. But I was pleasantly surprised to find that I actually loved it, even better than the first! It has a wonderful message of teamwork and unity, and that by putting aside our differences and working together, we can achieve anything! I also loved that it promoted engineering. Silver, one of the main characters in the movie, is a female engineer who comes up with wonderful ways to help save the islands. I also thought the animation was superb. The birds and the island- everything looked so vibrant and real (how do they get their feathers to look so feathery?!). I also loved the soundtrack. There were some fun songs to get you dancing, and you'll walk out of the theater with a feel-good sensation, which I love. There's so much sadness in the world nowadays, we need something uplifting to make us smile, wouldn't you say?

There was nothing scary or frightening in the film. Language was mild (one of the hatchlings says "cwap" but I can't imagine that being too offensive to anyone?) with nothing overly inappropriate to worry about (you see a little piggy butt every now and then, but that's all!). There are some underlying stories about birds falling in love and dating, but I wouldn't raise any red flags over it! If you are overly concerned about language and themes, always check out the detailed info found at commonsensemedia.org after the movie's release date.

Angry Birds Movie 2 She Can STEM Campaign

With STEM, the sky’s the limit! As an engineer in the film, Silver uses STEM to envision, invent, and create a better world. The Angry Birds Movie 2 (and Silver!) are helping to promote the She Can STEM campaign, which encourages girls to pursue their STEM passions by challenging obsolete stereotypes and surprising girls with how cool, unexpected and inspiring STEM can be. They hope to inspire young girls to use science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) to envision, invent and create a better world.
