Better Food Choices for Families: Bakerly (Order Online from Home!)

Wednesday, October 12, 2022
I'm always in search of new food options, especially for kids and families. For many years I attended the Fancy Food Show in New York City, just so I could find some of the best ideas for lunch box treats, after school snacks and healthy new options to share with you. One of my favorite finds from years past was Bakerly. Read all about them in today's post, and find out how you can get your own Bakerly products without even leaving your home.

Disclosure: this is not a sponsored post but it contains my referral link for Bakerly. I was not asked by Bakerly to write this, nor was I compensated in any way. I just love them THAT MUCH!

What is Bakerly?

I first met the good folks of Bakerly at The New York Fancy Food Show, and I immediately fell in love with their yummy samples and pretty much their entire booth, which looked like an adorable country market.

Bakerly is a company started by two friends named Julien and Fabian, both from Brittany, in the Northwest of France. Their goal (according to their website) was to 'convince American consumers that crepes, brioches and other traditional French products deserved a place in every American household.' Even better, Bakerly creates their products with quality ingredients. You can read all about them here.

Quite an improvement from my son's usual brand-that-will-not-be-named cereal box, which has a message on it saying, 'partially produced with genetic engineering.' If you're unsure what GMO's are, or why people don't want GMO's in their food, check out this article about GMO's and why non-GMO's seem to be a healthier choice for families.

Bakerly's Products

When I was a kid I loved snack cakes, desserts, and pretty much anything sweet. That really hasn't changed. But sadly, the ingredients they put in a lot of store-bought sweet treats has. I am so tired of picking up a product in a store that has a list of chemical ingredients ten miles long! Bakerly has created some unique treats with quality ingredients, and that's why I think you need to know about them. Bakerly's product line includes crepes (chocolate hazelnut, crunchy chocolate hazelnut, crunchy caramel and strawberry filled), chocolate croissants, brioche chocolate chip rolls, and french pancakes. They also launched a family line of brioche buns, baguettes, rolls, and sliced breads, too!

I can't even express to you how awesome these are for lunch boxes, picnic baskets or snacks on the go. Each crepe is individually wrapped, so you can just pack them and go (that's exactly why I included them in my post, 9 Exciting Snacks to Liven Up Your Lunchbox, too).

The croissants are flaky and delicious, great for a mid-morning treat. The one pictured here is a chocolate croissant.

The brioche collection is so tasty and one of my favorites for hamburgers and hot dogs.

Bakerly is one of the only companies I can think of off the top of my head that makes individually wrapped crepes that are perfect for lunchboxes and snacks. I've never seen anything quite like these. I've seen refrigerated crepes that you heat up, and plain crepes that you can fill yourself, but these are a unique concept with a delicious flavor. Very innovative indeed!

Where Can I Find Bakerly?

In my personal opinion, the best way to shop for Bakerly products is at their online store, Bakerly.com  You can even earn 'moo points,' for every purchase (which is like their shopper reward program- the moo points add up and you can get discounts and promos with your accumulated points). If you're in the mood to shop for yummy treats and have them delivered right to your door, please use my referral link so I can get some moo points, too! It's a win-win!

Also note that you cannot freeze Bakerly products, so plan ahead and don't buy in bulk if you don't think you can eat it all!

*Just a note that during the COVID-19 lockdown, Bakerly was an absolute lifesaver. Ordering from them enabled me to have bread, rolls, buns, and treats without going to the store. Their items always arrived quickly and were packaged with care. I am very grateful for them!!

Bakerly is popping up in stores all over the United States. If you are in New Jersey, you can find them at many markets, health food shops and more. Use their online store locator to find them in a shop near you, or use your incredibly important influence as a shopper and tell your local supermarket that you want them to stock Bakerly today!

Other Ideas for Bakerly Products

Okay, so you know I already mentioned that Bakerly products are great for lunchboxes, snack bags and picnics, but they also make cute gifts. Pop a couple of these in a cute gift bag or tin and you have a sweet, French-inspired treat! They make great gifts for Teacher Appreciation Day or even for a friend who might not be feeling well. I made this for a friend of mine who just had surgery (see the play on words there? I'm not sure if Bakerly would approve, but my friend thinks it's funny...)  I made the tag using Bakerly's adorable graphics, too!

I also use their french baguette for quick mozzarella bread to have with spaghetti. Just take a loaf of the french baguette bread, open it up, spread the insides with butter and a little shredded mozzarella (both sides), wrap in foil and bake till the cheese is melted! Yummy!

These look really good! They are different than the usual lunchbox treats I've been getting -- we'd all enjoy them! The strawberry filled crepes sound soooo good!
