Each year I search for fun games to play during our Dr. Seuss Read Across America party. You might have read about my Yertle the Turtle Stacking Game, remember? This year I threw together a character ring toss. Draw or print out your images and then stick them on colored cones (I used clear packing tape). A few rings and you're good to go!

Winter Boredom Busters for Kids
Friday, December 26, 2025
Winter can be so much fun for kids, but it can also get boring pretty quickly, especially on sub-zero days when you literally can't go outside. So I've compiled some ideas for indoor winter fun (that don't take too much planning or effort). Think Spring!

Fun Educational Apps for Kids
Monday, January 9, 2017
People are always asking me for app recommendations. In fact, I often ask friends for app recommendations, too. I think you get the best info from the people you know and trust, after all. Anyway, here are some fun educational apps that we enjoy, and you can, too, as long as your internet providers are speedy enough. I'll start with the educational ones so that this blog entry doesn't become a novel (The Jersey Momma is a gamer, too, don'tcha know). Oh, and just a disclaimer, this is NOT a sponsored post. These are just apps I love that I'm sharing with you because I care.

Make Your Own Find It Game
Friday, March 13, 2015
It's not easy to think of ideas for class parties. There's only so many DIY games one can create! Once again I needed to find a fun activity to do in The Jersey Momma's Boy's classroom for the latest class party (which just so happened to be a Dr. Seuss Read Across America Party. You can read about the Yertle the Turtle Stacking Game we made for that party here). I was trying to think outside the box and I came up with a DIY Find It Game!
