Gatsby: The Low-Cal, Low-Sugar, Low-Fat Chocolate That Everyone is Talking About

Wednesday, February 22, 2023
Chocolate lovers, rejoice! I found something special just for you. I tried a low-calorie, low-sugar and low-fat brand of chocolate called GATSBY thanks to MomsMeet.com. Gatsby has been making its way around social media with its trend-setting low cal chocolate, and people have been raving about it. But...how does it really taste?? Read on and I'll tell you all the details. I'll also tell you how to snag your own Gatsby chocolate for free.

Disclosure: I received samples of Gatsby's Almond Dark Chocolate thanks to Moms Meet (momsmeet.com) These samples help me post my honest opinions for you, and I always try to keep it real!

Around this time of year, I always start looking for ways to improve my diet and eat just a tad bit healthier. I'm not one for drastic dieting, but I do believe in changing up my eating habits to incorporate healthier choices. Gatsby is a great choice for chocolate lovers everywhere, since it is a low-calorie, low-sugar and low-fat option when you're craving chocolate or a little something sweet.

All About Gatsby Chocolate

Gatsby Chocolate was created by the cofounders of Halo Top Ice Cream. They worked for over a year to create the perfect low-calorie chocolate recipe, since they wanted it to be great-tasting, too. Gatsby says that their mission is to provide chocolate lovers everywhere with delicious chocolate they can enjoy every day without worrying about fat and sugar (now that's a mission I can get behind!). Gatsby Chocolate contains 90% less fat than premium chocolate brands and 90% less sugar than premium chocolate brands. Other perks of Gatsby:

-It's low calorie, containing half the calories of even sugar-free brands
-It's Keto-friendly, with only 1–2 grams of net carbs per serving, or 6 grams of net carbs for an entire bar
-Gatsby offers Vegan varieties including Sea Salt Extra Dark, Almond Dark, and Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups

But the Real Question...How Does it Taste?

When I first heard about Gatsby Chocolate, I was skeptical.  I loooovvve chocolate and I have tried many sugar-free and lower sugar brands before, only to find that they have a weird taste or they're made with artificial chemical sweeteners. Gatsby has a unique (and short) list of ingredients which you can read about on their product pages. I sampled the Gatsby Almond Dark Bar and I can attest that it has a real dark chocolate flavor with little to no after taste. It definitely satisfies a chocolate craving, and if you gave this to me blindfolded, I don't think I'd guess that it was anything other than 'regular' dark chocolate.

I also wanted to see how it held up to what I call the 'melt test.' Would it melt? Would it still taste the same when melted? Would it harden again after it cooled? I can heartily answer yes to all of those questions. It really was just like regular chocolate when it came to baking.

And don't worry, if you're not a fan of dark chocolate, Gatsby also produces peanut butter cups, cookie butter cups (gasp!), white chocolate peanut butter cups, cookies and cream bars, fudge brownie bars, and more. Check out their full selection here.

Where to Buy Gatsby Chocolate
