BBQ

Of course, we can’t create a list of summertime meals for you to try out without mentioning the leader of summer foods - the BBQ. There’s a good reason why BBQs are so popular during the summer months. They're easy, they allow you to cook outdoors, they're social, and they're delicious! Whether you’re just entertaining and feeding those you live with or just inviting your dearest family and friends, you can have a great time with any barbecue. All you need is a barbecue grill - or even a portable grill - and a few basics such as burgers, hot dogs, buns, veggies, and you’re good to go. If you want to get a bit more adventurous, you can try skewers, pulled pork, seafood, grilled corn, pineapple, and more. There aren’t really any rules here - just go with what you enjoy!

Caesar Salad

Salads are always a good summertime choice. They’re light, refreshing and easy to make. Of course, there’s a whole world of salads out there, so why not start with a classic? The Caesar Salad is longstanding as a firm favorite to many for good reason. This salad consists of romaine lettuce and croutons dressed with a vinaigrette of lemon juice, olive oil, egg, Worcestershire Sauce, anchovies, garlic, Dijon mustard, Parmesan cheese, and black pepper. Many choose to add some chicken fillet to their salad, too!

Shrimp Fried Rice

A take out favorite, shrimp fried rice packs in plenty of carbs to keep your energy levels up, as well as delicious fried shrimp to provide protein and flavor. But you don’t always have to order this meal from a restaurant. Instead, why not try making your own? A good shrimp stir fry recipe will have you creating something just as good - and potentially more healthy. You can enjoy this as a dish on its own, or serve it with fried vegetables, dumplings, spring rolls, or other delicious additions.

Grilled Halloumi Wraps

Wraps are one of the easiest foods to make. They can provide the perfect lunch or be paired with a delicious salad for dinner on a summer evening. Grilled halloumi cheese is an ideal filling. Most halloumi can now be bought in a packet, unwrapped, sliced and fried within a matter of minutes. It’s chewy, salty, and filling without being too heavy. Pair with chili jam for a sweet kick!

Of course, the best summer meal for you will depend on your individual tastes and preferences. But hopefully, some of the ideas above will help to kick-start your summer menu, providing inspiration and leading to some truly delicious eats!
