Hot New Educational Toys for Kids

Tuesday, May 24, 2022
It's no secret that I'm a toy enthusiast (you can see all of my toy posts here), but being a former teacher (and a parent), I especially appreciate good educational toys. I received samples of some amazing new educational toys that are perfect for homeschooling, classrooms, or just at-home learning fun! Check out all of my new finds for the season!

Disclosure: This post contains affiliate links to Amazon. I am a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for me to earn fees by linking to Amazon.com and affiliated sites. Some toys and gift suggestions were sent to me as samples, but I promise you I wouldn't feature items if I didn't totally love them myself! So rest assured, these items all have The Jersey Momma stamp of approval! Also, I am an Amazon affiliate but I would like to support local businesses, too. If you can find these items in a local shop instead, head on over there!

Money Bags - Learning Resources

One of the most important skills children can learn is MONEY! Counting money, making change, recognizing coin amounts. These are valuable life skills that all kids need. Counting Money is a game where players can collect, count, and exchange money all the way to the finish line. This is a great way for kids to learn valuable money skills through fun game play. 2 to 4 players, 7 and up Find Money Bags on Amazon.

Build and Bloom Building Set - Learning Resources

Accept no substitutes! There are a lot of 'copy cat' type build and bloom sets on the market but Learning Resources is truly the best- good quality with sturdy pieces and colors. This fun set supports critical thinking and problem solving skills while honing fine motor skills. Plus, it's just really cool, right? 116-piece set includes colorful gears, flowers, butterflies, bees, ladybugs, wiggly stems, and more.

Playfoam Pluffle Sensory Station - Educational Insights

Light and fluffy Playfoam Pluffle is so fun to play with - it's even a great stress reliever for adults! This set contains everything you need for your own mini sensory station. Handy roller, collection cup, 2 colors of playfoam, scissor scoopers and a sensory bin. Non-toxic, never dries out - this kit is a great way to build fine motor skills and emerse in sensory play. You can also add to the fun with an extra Playfoam set, like this shimmer set (sold separately). Squishy, squashy fun! Ages 3 and up. You can find Playfoam Pluffle Sensory Station on Amazon, or Playfoam Shimmer on the Educational Insights website.

ColorMix Sensory Tubes - Hand2Mind

These ColorMix Sensory Tubes are one of my absolute favorite things. They're even great for adults. Tip them over to watch the colors slowly blend together. Staring at them is hypnotic! They come in a set of three and they help teach kids to soothe themselves. These fidget tubes are perfect for occupational therapy activities for kids. They help with anxiety and reinforce sensory play. I love the idea that if kids are upset or stressed, they can focus on the movement within the fidget tube. Ages 3 to adult. You can find ColorMix Sensory Tubes on Amazon

Create-a-Maze - Learning Resources

Create-a-Maze from Learning Resources allows you to create your own twisty, curvy maze and solve it! The game design encourages critical thinking and problem solving through designing and solving puzzles. It's a big, bright bold set with fun to touch pieces. It would make a great gift for someone, too!
31 pieces for 1 to 4 players, ages 5 and up. You can find Create-a-Maze on Amazon.

My Feelings Rainbow Fidget - Hand2Mind

Fidgets are huge these days, and the My Feelings Rainbow Fidget is a unique way to explore emotions. Each end of the fidget features a different emotion (happy or sad). Kids can turn the fidget over and over to watch the colors slowly "rain" down. The calming sensation as well as the cloud faces help children self-soothe and recognize their own emotions. Ages 3 and up, you can find My Feelings Rainbow Fidget on Amazon.

Kanoodle - Educational Insights

Kanoodle is the perfect travel game, since it fits right in a backpack or purse. It features over 300 2-D and 3-D puzzles, from basic to tough, you can cross-train your brain!
