Kids Under 12 Ride Free on NY Waterway Ferries This Summer from NJ to Manhattan!

Tuesday, June 18, 2019
'What's the best way to get to New York City from New Jersey when you're traveling with kids?' I hear this question all the time, and although it largely depends on where you want to go in the city, I almost always suggest the NY Waterway Ferry! That's my favorite way to commute to the city, hands down! And guess what? This summer, kids under the age of 12 ride free! Read on for details and any exclusions that may apply.

Disclosure: this NY Waterway ferry info comes directly from their press releases. I was provided with my own ferry ticket in exchange for sharing this information with you. I totally love the ferry! It's my #1 NYC commute choice.

Kids under the age of 12 ride free on all NY Waterway ferries all summer between New Jersey and Manhattan from Friday, July 5th, through Labor Day, September 2nd.  That's all summer!

I love riding the NY Waterway ferries (my terminal of choice is Port Imperial in Weehawken) because they are fast, clean, easy to navigate, inexpensive, and offer a great view of the skyline. The free bus shuttles are an added bonus, and the NY Waterway staff is always very helpful in trying to get us where we need to go.

Where Can I Go on NY  Waterway Ferries?
