We could all use a good Netflix series, couldn't we? Cursed Season 1 is now streaming, and it's the perfect way to leave the "real" world behind. Read on for more info and to hear about the Cursed AR Experience!

Disclosure: I was given a sneak peek of the series CURSED on Netflix, before it aired to the public. All opinions are my own.

About Cursed

Based on the book of the same name, Cursed is a re-imagining of the Arthurian legend, told through the eyes of Nimue, a teenage heroine with a mysterious gift who is destined to become the powerful (and tragic) Lady of the Lake. After her mother's death, she finds an unexpected partner in Arthur, a young mercenary, in a quest to find Merlin and deliver an ancient sword. Over the course of her journey, Nimue will become a symbol of courage and rebellion against the terrifying Red Paladins, and their complicit King Uther.

Cast of Cursed

Cursed has an amazing cast, including Katherine Langford (13 Reasons Why) as Nimue, Devon Terrell (Barry) as mercenary Arthur, Gustaf Skarsgård (Vikings) as Merlin, Daniel Sharman (Fear the Walking Dead) as the Weeping Monk, Peter Mullan (Westworld) as  Father Carden, and Lily Newmark (Pin Cushion) as Nimue’s best friend Pym.

Jersey Momma's Review of Cursed

I am a sucker for all things fantasy and I loved the idea that this series was based on the Arthurian legend. The cinematography was stunning and the whole series really embodies that beautiful fantasy/earthy/forest realm that I love (I'm a huge Game of Thrones fan, as well as the Narnia series and The Neverending Story). Katherine Langford is amazing as Nimue- she's a strong, likable character who seemed very "real" to me. The first episode moved quickly and I actually had to rewind it to catch some details I missed at the very beginning, but by the end of the first episode, I was hooked. Even if you have never read the book that the series is based on, and even if you know nothing about the legend of King Arthur, Cursed is still enjoyable, entertaining and beautiful to watch. If they make a series 2, I have a feeling it could be even better than the first. The Cursed AR Experience was a lot of fun to play around with- there are fun filters you can use, as well as "powers" that you can share on social media. Oh, and just a note that the series is rated MA, so I don't recommend it for kids, as there are some strong themes and violence that might be disturbing for young children.
