Squishmallows: Where to Find, What's Coming, What's New

Monday, August 13, 2018
Are you a Squishmallows fan? To say I'm addicted is an understatement! It's no secret that I love stuffed animals, but Squishmallows are in their own unique category. There's just something about them. They're soft as velvet and, well, squishy. Read on to hear about all of the amazing Squishmallows that I saw at Toy Fair New York this year!

What Are Squishmallows?

Well, let's hear straight from their manufacturer, Kellytoy. This is a snippet from their press release:

"Squishy and super soft, Squishmallows are perfect for kids, tweens, collectors and toy lovers of all ages. Plush toys are proven sellers and a snuggly option to high tech toys. “Plush toys also offer security and companionship and make a great gift anytime of year,” says Kellytoy CEO Jonathan Kelly. According to the NPD Group’s retail tracking service, plush sales are steadily increasing in the U.S., growing 12 percent year-to-date (through August 2017). Since its fall 2017 debut, Squishmallows have received kudos from kids of all ages as well as numerous awards including the National Parenting Product Award (NAPPA) and Parents’ Choice Award for Fun Stuff.

Popping with personality, the Squishmallows line currently includes pink and blue penguins, purple and grey owls, blue and purple unicorns, blue and green llamas, a cat, orange fox, frog, hedgehog, monkey, pig, cow, panda bear, sloth and puppy. Each character has a unique background story detailed on its hangtag. Sam is a brown puppy who loves to run fast and wants to be a racecar driver when he grows up. And Astrid, the purple unicorn, loves to read and hang out with her friends.

The line originally launched with four different sizes: clip-ons (3.5”), small (8”), medium (13”) and large (16”) sizes with a suggested retail price of $2.99, $6.99, $12.99 and $19.99, respectively. Two new sizes, 5” and 20” ($4.99 and $29.99 respectively), along with several seasonal styles including Valentine’s, Easter, fall, Halloween and Christmas will launch this year. Kellytoy also plans to introduce a new baby line in 2018.

Made for crazy, cuddly fun, the unique line is made of super soft marshmallow-like texture and polyester. Caring for Squishmallows is easy; give them lots of love, wash in warm water and tumble-dry on medium heat."

Where to Find

That's the million dollar question! Listen, these guys fly off shelves fast, so if you spot the ones you want, grab 'em! You can find them on the Squishmallows website, on Amazon (although they seem to be significantly more expensive there), Shop Rite, Five Below, Kroger, Costco, Walgreens and some local specialty shops. Many reports have come in about them being given as prizes in local arcades, on boardwalks, and at state fairs. This is because Kellytoy is one of the leading manufacturers of amusement park and mass market toys (even crane game prizes)!

If you find them somewhere else, please let us know in the comments section!

About prices and sizing, here's some info straight from Kellytoy:

The baby line has a little rattle sound inside! So cute!! Below are some of my pics from the local Shop Rite, where I came across the new Halloween line for 2018:

If you're a Squishmallows fan then you're not here for a bunch of chit chat, right? You want to see the goods! Scroll below to see the Kellytoy Squishmallow booth from Toy Fair New York, 2018. Most of these Squishmallows are already in stores, but some are coming soon, including their holiday lines. And by the way, if you like my photos, I don't mind if you share them! Just please give credit to The Jersey Momma and do not crop out my watermark. Thanks a bunch.

The holiday Squishmallows line for Fall and Winter were totes adorbs!! My favorites were the winter ones that had fringed scarves, like the snowman and penguin.

Oh, and after the Toy Fair, Kellytoy sent me some samples from the Spring line, which I included in my Easter round-up here.

And don't close out this page without viewing this video! The Kellytoy booth at Toy Fair New York had tons of Squishmallows on display, so it was hard to get everything in since there were a lot of people milling about, too, but here's what I got of their current line and more to come:

And last but not least, I was SO excited to see the cup that Kellytoy was using for their free hot chocolate at Toy Fair New York. I didn't even want the hot chocolate! I just wanted the paper cup! Now that's a true fan, right?
