What's New at Hersheypark? Must See Attractions and Fun at The Sweetest Place on Earth!

Wondering what's new at Hersheypark in Hershey, Pennsylvania this season? Curious what things you MUST SEE if you're planning a visit? Well, then, you've come to the right place! My blog is chock full o' Hershey posts because I am a huge fan of the Hershey Resorts, Hersheypark, Chocolate World, Hershey Gardens, Hershey Story Museum...shall I go on? We visit Hershey so much that we actually thought about not going this summer (gasp!). Luckily, Hersheypark offered me free tickets so I could come and experience what's new this season. I'm so glad they did! We discovered so many new and fun things that we would have totally missed out on. So come along on our 'Super Fun Hershey Day Trip,' and see what we discovered at the sweetest place on earth!

Here's my usual disclaimer: Hersheypark provided me with free admission, but this did not influence my opinion. And I still paid for my own parking, food, and merchandise. So there.

What's New at Hersheypark?

Hershey Triple Tower

If you're headed to Hersheypark this summer, here's what you need to see! First up on your must-see list is Hersheypark's newest ride, Hershey Triple Tower! I was too chicken to go on it, but it's basically three towers of varying height (Kisses, Reeses and Hershey). You'll rocket straight up, sitting elevator style, then be turbo-dropped straight down like a bag o' Hershey's Kisses! Read more about the ride here.

And check out my quick video to see the ride in action (normally, I DO turn the phone the right way to take a video, but I wanted you to see the height of it!).

Simply Chocolate King Size Shakes

Okay, so Simply Chocolate has been offering their king-size shakes each season for a while now, but I always seem to miss them. I was happy to see this huge sign advertising them this summer. So if you have a chance, head over there and grab one. They're available in three sizes, but only at Simply Chocolate (which is near the Bizzy Bees ride in Founder's Way).

BBlz

BBlz. What is it? Are you intrigued? You should be! It wasn't quite ready to open when we visited (ya can't rush greatness!), but in a few more weeks, guests at Hersheypark can try BBlz, a one-of-a-kind dessert and beverage mixing experience! It's located in Kissing Tower Hill and looks pretty futuristic if you ask me.

I was curious to learn more, so I did some searching on YouTube and found this fabulous video from All American Thrills that shows you just what a BBlz experience will be like. I think it looks so cool. Skip ahead to 4:42 if you want to see the actual BBlz mixology taking place.

Chick-fil-A

I can't tell you how excited I was to learn that Chick-fil-A had opened in Hersheypark. I am a proud member of the Chick-fil-A Moms Panel, and I work very closely with my local Chick-fil-A in Flemington. Our meal was delicious and the staff was very polite and friendly. It was crowded but the line moved quickly! The only thing to note here is that you can't use the Chick-fil-A app at this location, and I couldn't cash in the goodies from my cow calendar card either. They do have a limited menu (no chicken strips, no summer items, and no toys in the kids meals), but I still recommend it if you're a CFA fan! And even better, Hersheypark season pass holders receive a 15% discount at this location!

Dining Plans and New Refillable Drink Cups

I'm happy to report that Hersheypark now has a dining plan! You can purchase an all-day dining plan or a meal ticket. Read more about Hersheypark's meal plans here. You can also purchase a refillable drink cup. For $14.83 you'll get a cool cup featuring the new Hershey Triple Tower ride, and you can refill the cup throughout the park for no extra charge (some restrictions apply- see site for details). I did not get the refillable cup on our day trip and I totally regret it. Bottled drinks from machines varied between $3-$4 each, and with that kind of heat, they didn't last long. It was hot while we were there and we did a lot of walking (FitBit said it was over five miles total for the day). By the time we got back to the car in the evening, I was feeling dehydrated and wished I had purchased that cup. Plus, it would've been a nice souvenir to take home! The cooler we had left in the car for the ride home was no longer cool, either (so not cool!)

Character Appearances

Character appearances are not new in Hersheypark (you can even reserve a character dining experience), but we looove trying to find different Hershey characters throughout Hersheypark and the Hershey resorts. It's become a bit of a quest to find the most elusive characters. We were thrilled to come across the Hershey Syrup Guy during our last visit. Who will you spot? We've yet to find the York Peppermint Patty!

Hop on the Monorail

For a nice break and a birds-eye view, hop on the Hersheypark Monorail and get a quick tour of the park. You'll even ride through part of the town of Hershey (see if you can find the Hershey Kiss shaped lightposts!) and ZooAmerica (we spotted some bears wrestling below!).

Jersey Momma Tips for Hersheypark

-wear good walking shoes. There is a lot of walking in Hersheypark, and some spots are uphill.

-take advantage of the refillable cup offer! It really is a great deal and worth it if you will be in the park all day, especially when it's hot.

-bring handiwipes of some kind. I only say this because there must have been about ten times when I wished I had some kind of hand cleaner after riding rides in the heat!

-be sure to bring some kind of bathing suit cover up or an extra shirt if you'll be using the water rides at the Boardwalk section of Hersheypark. They don't permit you to walk around in your bathing suit outside of the Boardwalk area (and they do enforce this), so you'll need something to change into or cover up with.

-don't miss my other Hershey posts! You can find links to them below:

-purchase tickets online for better savings, or consider a season pass if you are a frequent visitor.

-check out Hersheypark's Ways to Save page. They offer lots of choices for discounted admission. The sunset plan and the preview plan are great deals. There are also combo packs for Hersheypark and Dutch Wonderland!

-download the Hersheypark app. It's free and it's helpful when you're in the park. It can tell you ride wait times, closures, and basic locations of pretty much everything.

- don't miss Hershey's Chocolate World. It is right next to Hersheypark (you can walk to it from the entrance) and admission is free (you can pay separately for activities within Chocolate World, but it doesn't cost anything to take the factory tour ride or shop in their amazing gift shop. There is a food court inside, too).
