Last year I published some fun ideas for Mother's Day gifts. Most of them were experience gifts (and I still highly recommend those!) so this year I thought I'd add in some more tangible items for moms, too. Here are some fun suggestions for Mother's Day gifts that won't break the bank! There's a little something for every type of mom here.
Just a disclaimer that this post includes Amazon affiliate links. You can read more about that on my disclosure page. But other than the Amazon links, I have not been paid or sponsored to share these items with you. I am sharing these ideas with you simply because I love them, too.
For the Green Mom: Upcycled Book Bracelets
I first heard of Trashy Crafter from an awesome teacher online who runs Crayons and Cuties in Kindergarten. She was holding a contest to win one on Instagram and I was the lucky pick! Trashy Crafter's bracelets are made from recycled book paper. She makes bracelets out of famous books, maps, pretty much anything you can think of! She'll do custom orders, too, so you can get something extra special for Mom if you order in time.
It even comes wrapped in an upcycled envelope!
For the Fit Mom: FitZip Waist Pack
Laugh if you must, but I still strap on that untrendy fanny pack when I'm headed to a theme park or someplace where I can't carry a bag. Even worse, mine has giant tropical flowers all over it! So I was thrilled when I came across this item called a FitZip. Finally, a COOL fanny pack! It's really thin and sleek looking, and it stretches to fit a cell phone, keys or anything you can stuff in there. It comes in a variety of colors and has an adjustable strap. You can stretch it to a pretty decent size, but it's snug because it has an elastic band (so keep that in mind - it fits tightly, like an elastic belt). It's great for exercise, runners, yoga, even just a casual walk (I am thinking it would be great for dog walks- doggy bags and treats will fit nicely).
For the Artsy Mom: Crayola Color Escapes Kit
Adult coloring books are all the rage these days. You might have even read my post about the best adult coloring books and supplies! Coloring is a wonderful stress reducer, and it's also something fun to do with grandkids and children. Crayola has created an awesome coloring kit for adults called the Crayola Color Escape Kit. They include coloring pages and supplies all in one. I actually bought this kit for my own mom and it's really nice quality- large, thick pages with fun designs.
For the Crafty Sewing Mom: Fluffables
Hear me out on this one. I first encountered Fluffables at Toy Fair New York and I thought they were SO adorable. They're geared towards kids but they are fun for adults, too. Each kit contains a 'naked' little critter that you can slowly add the fur to. You can fluff and trim the hair when you're finished, and add the mystery accessory that comes with each pack.
If you're not sure if Mom will like a kit that is geared towards kids, you can check out some more 'adult' looking sewing kits on the market. These adorable Singer sewing kits that have all of your supplies tucked neatly inside. They come in a variety of colors, styles and sizes.
For the Mom Who Loves to Bake: Wilton Ice Cream Sandwich Pan
You can't beat Wilton! They're always good quality, with ingenious shapes and sizes for cake pans and molds. I was thrilled to find this Round Ice Cream Sandwich pan for making waffle cookies! You can use it to make ice cream sandwiches or fun little pizzelle-type cookies, too.
For the Mom Who Loves Chocolate: Hawaiian Host Aloha Macs
I tried these Hawaiian Host Aloha Macs at the Fancy Food Show last summer, and I thought they tasted like a little piece of Heaven on earth. I was thrilled to see them sold on Amazon, too. My only word of caution is that they are products of Hawaii. They have to travel a long way to get to you, so don't order them if the weather is too warm. Give these as a little summer themed gift- add a tote bag with some flip flops, a beach towel and a Hawaiian lei. Wouldn't that be cute? If you're a member of my family and you're thinking of buying these for me, feel free to toss in some airline tickets to Hawaii, too!
For the Foodie Mom: The Jersey Shore Cookbook
The Jersey Shore Cookbook was written by Deborah Smith, a Jersey resident who probably loves food as much as you do! Don't expect hamburgers and hot dogs from this book. These are unique, Jersey-shore inspired dishes that will wow anyone. Breakfasts, lunches, dinners and desserts, this book has a recipe for everyone.
Amazon even suggests purchasing a New Jersey shaped cutting board to go along with this book. Now wouldn't that be cute?
For the Mom Who Likes to Read: The Poems of Parenthood
The poetry of Hollie McNish is absolutely beautiful. I fell in love with her work after seeing her read her poem, What's My Name Again? on a circulated British news video. You can find her book, Nobody Told Me: The Poems of Parenthood on Amazon.
For the Mom Who Has Everything: Medieval Times Dinner and Show
You think I'm joking, right? I am totally serious! If your mom is the queen of your life, then you need to bring her to Medieval Times. I was a doubter, too, until I experienced this fun and affordable show right here in New Jersey. Read all about it in my review post. Even if you don't have time to read the whole post, scroll through to see the photos of this dinner show, and you'll see that it was way above our expectations. At Medieval Times, you'll see knights, villains, horses, falcons, and hand to hand combat. Plus, you get dinner and a fun night out with your whole family in a sort-of real looking castle. What more can Mom ask for?
If you're still stuck for ideas, here are some more of my suggestions from Amazon. Happy Mother's Day!
