What is The Paint Party Studio?
The Paint Party Studio is an awesome little place on Main Street in Flemington where you can gather with friends, co-workers, or kids for a creative, upbeat class taught by experienced artists (who guide you step by step). They provide everything you need, and you can even bring your own snacks and wine. Their motto is, 'fun art...not fine art!' You don't need to be an artist to join in the fun, not even close!
The Paint Party Studio is a bright, colorful, inviting place. It's conveniently located on Main Street in Flemington, and there is even a parking lot right behind it in case street parking stresses you out! If you've never been to Flemington, well then I suggest you make a day of it! There are so many restaurants, shops and historic buildings. It's such a great town and personally very dear to my heart.

What is a Paint Party Studio Class Like?
I arrived for a 7pm class with a bag of treats in hand (wine, cheese, crackers, you name it!). I had invited some of my momma friends, and we gathered at a long table that was already set up for our arrival. We had chosen to paint the Paris Sunrise.

Eileen, the owner, came to greet us and show us where to hang our coats and grab our aprons. There was a corkscrew, cups and paper towels provided for our snacks, too! The people across from us had brought a pizza. One of my friends brought a little cake. Think of the possibilities here, people!
Our teacher, Mare, was awesome (*did we tell you that, Mare? You were awesome! I'm not even sure if I had a chance to thank you, but you were an amazing teacher! Thanks for making our evening so special!). She showed us step by step how to paint our canvas, what to do with our brushes, how much paint to use, when to use water, and even how to fix mistakes. She walked around to assist us as needed, and so did Eileen. They offered gentle suggestions and encouragement. For someone who is not a huge fan of painting, I wasn't stressed at all. It was fun, fairly basic, and relaxing. I loved sitting with my momma friends and laughing. It was so nice to just talk and eat and paint. Such simple things! Eileen and Mare were playing some of our favorite music, too, which helped get us in the spirit.

We were a table of seven, and we were seated next to and across from each other so we could chat and see each other's work as we painted.
There were break times provided, and the atmosphere was relaxed enough so that you could get up, walk around and experience a little bit of everything. There was another table of ladies (and one gentleman!) in the room with us, and there was plenty of space for all of us. Even though we all didn't know each other, it was fun to see the work that everyone in the room was doing. I especially loved that even though we were all painting the same scene, each painting was a little bit different. We all had our own style or added our own little touches. I thought that was so much fun to see.
The class was a little over two hours long, and when it was finished, we all took a group photo and got to take our paintings home. I have to tell you, I was really proud of my work! Upon seeing it at home, The Jersey Momma's Boy exclaimed, 'Mommy, it's awesome!!' Isn't that all a momma needs to hear?

Why Attend a Paint Party?
As parents, as adults, we give so much of ourselves to our kids and our families (and sometimes even to work or school). We really do deserve time to ourselves (remember my article about Why Me Time is Important?). The Paint Party Studio was such a fun way to spend time together. It was affordable, close to home, inviting, and you got to bring something tangible home with you when the night was over! How cool is that? I can't stress enough how much I think you need to try it. Seriously, do it right now. Email your friends. Text them, send them a link to the Paint Party Studio's calendar, and pick the design you all want to paint. Then sign up. It's that easy!! Trust me, you won't be sorry.
Visit The Paint Party Studio at 61 Main Street in Flemington. Check out their website here, or visit them on Facebook. And tell them The Jersey Momma sent you!
**As a disclaimer, I have to say that I was offered a free class in exchange for my honest review, but as always, I would never recommend something to you that I totally didn't love. That's not how I roll! And on a side note, my friends all paid for their classes and they only had good things to say. 'I can't wait to go back!' were my friend Andi's exact words. Me, too, girl! Let's look at that calendar and plan our next outing!
